IN FOCUS

The Boston Boot

Introducing the Boston Desert Boot

Made using both organic and recycled materials.

We are always looking for new and innovative materials to create our shoes each season. The Boston is the latest style to drop as part of our Better Soles Project. The sole unit has been made from both organic material (10% cork), and recycled materials (90% pre-production waste).

The Tracer Sneaker

Introducing the Tracer Sneaker

Made using a 70% Recycled Sole

By using recycled soles, we reduce our demand on limited natural resources. It also uses less energy, fewer chemicals, and contributes less CO2 into the atmosphere. Our recycled soles are sourced from pre-consumer waste, which means offcuts and production waste that we prevent from entering landfill.

Vegetable Tanning

Incas Vegetable Tanning

Less water consumption and organic, metal-free tanning.

We use INCAS vegetable tanned leather in a selection of our Italian-made shoes. The leathers, all by-products of the food industry, are tanned using less water consumption, heavy metals, chemicals and emissions. Our Italian tannery is EMAS registered and have obtained ICEC Certification of Companies Sustainability in accordance with UNIC Code of Conduct and Social Accountability.

Ready Set

READY SET

Aquila are proud supporters of ‘Ready Set’ (formerly Wear For Success), a not-for-profit organisation providing professional clothing and work skills training for those struggling on their journey back to work. These people include long-term unemployed, humanitarian migrants, people with mental health issues, indigenous Australians and young people. Aquila donates work-appropriate footwear and accessories to Ready Set to style job-seekers for interviews. Our greatest pleasure is seeing real people’s transformations and success stories. Find out more about Ready set here.

Better Packaging

OUR PACKAGING

All Aquila packaging, including Aquila shoe boxes, are made with quality, long lasting materials, and we are working towards providing clear labelling on all packaging promoting reuse and recycling. We are also making an effort to reduce the amount of packaging found inside our boxes, which ultimately protects the shoes from damage during transit.

Our satchels are recyclable and completely biodegradable, meaning less waste for our online customers.

We’ve reduced single use plastic in our shoe boxes by 90%. We’re only using it where necessary. Less waste. More room for good shoes.
